Limited to a field size of 124 entries, the Open will consist of two competitions. The Championship for ladies with a handicap of 24 or under played in a medal format, and the Plate, open to ladies with a handicap of between 25 and 36 played in Stableford format.

The Champion Lady Amateur Golfer will be the competitor returning the best 36-hole gross aggregate score.

The entry fee is inclusive of a 36-hole green fee, including cart, unlimited range balls over the weekend, tournament gift pack, continental breakfast and buffet lunch on the two tournament days, as well as the prize-giving dinner after the final round on Saturday, May 5.

The defending champion, Nad Al Sheba Golf Club?s very own Henna Jodha, will be keen to emulate last year?s victory where she was victorious by two strokes from Sylvie Boulet-Capron by shooting a two round total of 160.

Julian Danby, Director of Golf at Nad Al Sheba Golf Club, commented: ?The growth and strength of ladies golf in the region over the last 12 months has been remarkable. I have personally seen a large growth in the take up of new lady golfers here at Nad Al Sheba Golf Club, which is fantastic and we hope to see a much stronger, larger field this year than ever before. Diners Club International?s commitment to this event is wonderful and with their support and continued investment into the game, we will certainly witness a great event and a great climax to the 2006/07 UAE Golf Association Ladies? Order of Merit?.

Louis A Scotto, Chairman of Diners Club International (UAE), commented: ?Diners Club International maintains a keen interest in supporting and promoting sporting events. Golf has a great appeal in the UAE where it has grown to have a serious and prominent following amongst both the local and the expat communities. We are very pleased to be of support to the NASGC?s Ladies? Amateur Open.

Diners Club International believes that involvement in the community and its activities is a vital aspect of both developing itself into a people?s brand, as well as creating value amongst its customers.?
